The Club was established in 1945.The Club was founded for the men of Cobham returning home from World War II.I t was formed under the patronage of Major Coombes, a local land owner whose land the Mole flowed through, from the old saw mill at Downside to the bridge crossing at the old Portsmouth Road in Cobham. The Coombe Estate to this very day is still in existence and continues to operate as it has for many years. The Club controls stretches of the river that run through Cobham, the Club also has a one mile stretch of the River Mole at Leatherhead.
The Club started as two Clubs namely, Cobham District Club and Cobham Working Mans Club, these Clubs later formed into Cobham Court Angling Club.
