History of Our Club
The Club was established in 1945.
The Club was founded for the men
of Cobham returning home from World War II. It was formed under the patronage of Major Coombes, a local land owner whoms land the Mole flowed
through, from the old saw mill at Downside to the bridge crossing at the old Portsmouth Road in Cobham. The Coombe Estate to this very day
is still in existence and continues to operate as it has for many years. The Coombe Estate stretch of the river
runs for a distance of 4.5 miles the Club also has a one mile stretch of the River Mole at Leatherhead and a small lake at Heath Field Common near Oxshott
Village commonly known as the Brick Pit.The
Club started as two Clubs namely, Cobham District Club and Cobham Working Mans Club, these Clubs later formed into
Cobham Court Angling Club, under this name
the Club has thrived and now has approximately 320 members.
